Camilla Brooks
Camilla Brooks is an intercultural specialist with a focus on equipping modern leaders with the cultural intelligence necessary to be successful in an increasingly connected world.
Camilla was born in England, raised and educated in the United States, and has been living and working in the Philippines for more than 15 years. Her professional experience spans the non-profit and commercial sectors, and she has lived and worked in remote island barangays as well as in Manila. Her educational background includes a BA in East Asian studies from Bates College, an MA in political science with a focus on community development from Illinois State University, and an MBA from the University of Western Australia.
In Manila, Camilla has been training and speaking on the topic of Cultural Intelligence for more than a decade. She works primarily with multinationals strengthening cross boarder teams and smoothing the cultural transition of career expat managers. In the past year, Camilla has worked with Beasley Intercultural clients in Qatar, the United States, the Philippines, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
Camilla has been featured in Business Chamber publications as well as a regular culture column in the Expat Magazine. She has been the featured speaker at multiple business breakfasts and with organisations such as People Management Association of the Philippines.
Having married into a Chinese-Filipino family, she now endeavours to raise her young children to have an appreciation for, and an ability to adapt to, both traditionally western and traditionally eastern values. She is currently researching more on this topic as to how we better prepare our youth for thriving in multicultural environments.
