Alison Laird

With more than 20 years’ international experience in international diplomacy, innovation and legal operations working in Beirut, Dubai, London, Paris and Melbourne, Alison provides expert facilitation for Beasley Intercultural programs in the area of cross-cultural capability for deployment and post.

Alison uses a clever combination of people, process and technology, collaborating with business professionals and clients to develop bespoke and creative solutions and services that are streamlined, and help clients to generate ideas and develop implementation plans to deliver solutions that drive change and business transformation.

Alison is also experienced in delivering strategic solutions to streamline and simplify business and support service operations from standardisation and assessment of centralised vs decentralised service delivery models, to clarification of accountability aligned with function and role clarity, enhancing end-user service and quality delivery methods, and improving business team ability to drive fee-earning activities.

Alison is currently the global Chair of the Chief Innovation Officers Forum (CIOF), which brings together like-minded professionals responsible for innovation initiatives within their organisation providing a platform to share resources and experiences along the journey – sharing lessons learned from the good, the bad, the ugly – along with peer-driven professional development opportunities. The CIOF has chapters in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore with plans to expand across Asia and Europe.

 

She is currently a Teaching Fellow at Australia’s College of Law and has designed and delivered sessions on legal innovation and entrepreneurship in Australia and Singapore. Alison’s previous roles in global law firm have included Head of Innovation and Project Delivery Asia Pacific with Pinsent Masons based in Melbourne, and International Director of Implementation with DLA Piper based in London. Before these roles, Alison was posted with the Australian Government to Lebanon and the UAE managing operations and multidisciplinary teams across the Levant and the GCC.  Alison holds an MBA from the University of Melbourne, Australia.
