Lauren Gollasch

lauren_portrait_2010.jpgLauren Gollasch is a BI Consultant with a deep commitment to furthering the trade and commercial relationships between Australia and businesses in the Asia-Pacific region. Lauren speaks advanced Mandarin and French and intermediate Japanese. She has lived in China, Japan and France and is now based in Shanghai. Lauren pairs deep intercultural communication skills with exceptional presentation and communication skills developed through years of presentation, speech and drama training.

Lauren has been based in China for the past four years. She had her first intercultural immersion experience in Asia as an exchange student to Japan, where she lived with a Japanese family for a year. Lauren has also spent one year living in Paris, studying French language and culture where she undertook an internship at UNESCO and taught English to second-generation Chinese children in a language school. Lauren's professional positions held include managing a French owned art gallery specialising in Asian art in Shanghai, and working as Project Manager at Liquid Impact, an Australian owned leading events management company in Shanghai. In this position, Lauren successfully led a team to conceptualise and execute the centenary event for a multinational car manufacturer in one of the most challenging venues in Shanghai. Coordinating this event drew on Lauren's intercultural and communication skills and involved liaising with corporate clients and their PR agencies, as well as the management of a large international team and an array of Chinese and international suppliers.

Lauren has studied under scholarship at Zhejiang University and Yunnan Normal University in China for one year, and holds a Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Arts (International Studies) from the University of Technology, Sydney.
